National Honor Society

Students who have shown exceptional academic performance in 9th grade and the first term of 10th grade will be invited to join the National Honor Society. Students must have earned a 3.8 GPA, which they must maintain throughout their high school career. They also must maintain enrollment in at least two academic honors courses each year (identified by National Honor Society, not the DHS Honors Track). In addition, students must demonstrate qualities of leadership, citizenship, and service. Juniors and seniors who believe they meet Honor Society standards, but have never been inducted, may submit an application for membership in the fall before sophomore induction. National Honor Society seniors are honored at a banquet at the end of the year where at least one scholarship is awarded to a member who has maintained high standards throughout his or her high school experience.
